{Monthly Photo Challenge} BROWN

Joining Marcia again this month on the photo challenge. The theme this time around is BROWN!

I battled with this challenge all week because I just didn’t want to take the obvious brown nature pictures, but then had a light bulb moment today, I have loads of brown around my house…

So here we go (I need a lot of luck as I’m posting this from my phone)

Trust you are having a great weekend xxx

A view of one part of my lounge. A lot of brown :-)

Move it…

Our photo challenge for March is MOVEMENT. Not an easy task, because how do you capture movement in pictures, but  this is one theme I was very much looking forward to. Can’t wait to see all the different interpretations of this theme.

The usual rules apply… 5 pics  and an added rule for this theme pictures taken from different vantage points.

Electrifyin atmosphere

Electrifying atmosphere, I literally sat on my edge of my seat all through the game except of course when the goal was scored- I choose the wrong time to answer the call of nature  😉  😉  🙂  🙂

If you can bear the noise (I had ear plugs) and the crowd, nothing beats watching a soccer game live. Though if you are like my hubby anything more than 10 people will scare the beje.sus out of you 🙂 plus he says he doesn’t want to watch people kicking around a ball for 90 mins (good thing he doesn’t like cricket either)

A gaggle tanning after a dip

A gaggle tanning after a dip. These geese all go into the water for a quick dip and then  line up facing the sun and go back in for a dip again then tan again. Must be so much fun. Good I didn’t end up in the water while trying to get this picture

Did you know that a flock of geese, if not in flight, is sometimes called a GAGGLE. Now you know 🙂

Commuters at the train station One of my favourite past time is people watching.... I try to imagine what is going on in people's minds as they go about their normal everyday activities

Another one of my people watching exercise ;-) ;-)

Another one of my people watching exercise 😉 😉 I took this while doing a not so fast walk on the treadmill – I have a love/hate relationship with this particular gym equipment, I would rather walk outdoors

Hope you will join the photo fun?

Have a lovely weekend xxx

In my shoes….

Marcia is hosting the Monthly photo challenge and I am joining in again. A reminder post was done for this, but if you know me and pictures, I don’t need a reminder  🙂

This month’s theme is SELF-PORTRAITS.

I find it interesting that many people say they don’t like pictures of themselves. I love love love love taking self-portraits and the only way I was able to narrow this down to the mandatory 5 pictures was to decide on a theme, and my chosen theme for this was my shoes (ha ha ha ha ha no surprises there)

Enough rambling, take a walk in my shoes for a week… Please pardon the quality of the pictures – all taken indoors using my phone 🙂

Faces…

New Year, New photo challenge. I am joining Marcia again this month for the photo challenge (You all know I can’t resist any opportunity to post pictures 😉 )

This month’s challenge is FACES… (there’s a song playing in my head about faces or people  (from a popular TV series, but I can’t seem to remember the lyrics or a the series)

No, I didn;t turn this picture around, this was the way it was taken ;-)

A thrill ride would do this to anyone's face (I guess)

This cracks me up everytime I see it...

Mr RED FACE This cracks me up every time I see it…

I saw MRS Shiny RED Face yesterday and just couldn’t resist

And a little icing on the cake

This was taken (a few months ago) to show off my hair and not my face, but it fits the theme

I can’t believe it is the middle of the month already. Seems like just yesterday I was running around to get everything I needed for Christmas. Time really does fly.

Hope you are having a nice and restful weekend

YELLOW again…

Another photo challenge. Joining  Marcia again. The theme this time around is YELLOW! I did another YELLOW post a few months ago, hence again 🙂

For some reason, the captions for some of the pictures didn’t appear and WP is testing my patience right now, I will update accordingly during the course of next week but for your pleasure

Noir et Blanc…

In simple language BLACK AND WHITE I couldn’t resist showing off the little, teeny, tiny French I know.

I am joining Marcia for this month’s photo challenge. The theme is Black &White (B&W)

Very exciting challenge, since I love  B&W pictures.  Recently, I learnt that the best tactic is to take pictures in colour because with picture editing softwares you can  change the colours of the pictures, but if you take in B&W you can’t turn it into colour. WHO KNEW…

A beautiful sunset

Peace be still…

Beautiful even if I say so myself 😉 🙂
Just had to combine it with the coloured version of the picture for your viewing pleasure…

More pictures of my sister and I goofing around during an evening stroll   😉

The first 3 pictures I took in colour and converted to B&W. The fourth was taken directly in B&W

This is a colour picture, but the weather was so gloomy and dreary this was how the pictures came out.
Just perfect for our B&W theme 😉

Those are my pictures for today.

My sister sent me this earlier this week and I thought how appropriate. She saw it on the floor in a shopping centre

hmmmm, still thinking about this statement…
Some useful (or not) information, Ted Grant was a Trotskyist (!*&#$)  born Isaac Blank in Germiston, South Africa on July 9 1913

And one last one, which I didn’t take but also couldn’t resist posting, because when I hear Black and White, I always think of TV. I am not that old though (just saying – 😉 😉   )

Those where the days…

Hope your Saturday is going as planned? Enjoy your weekend

Red Saturday…

Joining Marcia again for a Monthly Photo Challenge.

The challenge this week is 5 pictures that captures the theme RED

Marcia you know having only 5 is a big big challenge but it also helps to keep me some of us on the straight and narrow

Here are my 5

Yummy Bell Peppers

Snail Mail 🙂

During construction on what is supposed to be the greenest office building in the country.
Taken on the way to work 😉

My favourite chewing gum at the moment.
If only strawberries were really this red and shiny!!!

January on my lovely Afrikaans calendar 🙂

Some red tulips (ROOI TULPE) just for Julia and Blackhuff. I know what rooi means (I live in an area that starts with rooi, so I had to know what it means) and I know what tulips look like 😉

All pictures taken with my BB

I am proud of myself for sticking to the rules 😉

Hope your weekend is going as planned?
