Another 8km …

…or MORE

The excuses I made for not doing 10km at the sun “not” rise monster were:

  • I did a 10km the weekend before
  • I will do 8km the day after

very very valid excuses (or not) 😉 😉

So bright and early last Sunday morning I made my way to the Zoo lake to take part in an 8km race walk in support of hospice (you all know by now I don’t run). What I liked everything from the view to the crowd and the cause, what I didn’t like about doing the 8km you do the same 4km route twice – not good for picture-taking if you ask me 😉 😉 – but I did it and of course got loads of pictures in the process

Everytime I am this venue, I take a picture of this view :-)

Later in the day, I looked out my window and this was what I saw. Too good to stay indoors!

I am just in awe of sunsets

What do you do when the weather is beautiful, take the dogs walking. PS: I do put my dog on a leash until we get to this mini park where I release him if the park is empty

Hope you are joining us for the Monthly Photo Challenge? The theme for this month is MOVEMENT

Have a nice weekend!

Weekend Awesome Work Play…

The title of this post doesn’t really reflect my weekend , but rather it is the cues for the photo-a-day challenge for days 18, 19 and 20 November.

Day 18. Happened this weekend:

Take a photo of something you did this weekend. Perhaps it was just sleeping, or was it partying? Just shoot a part of your weekend and share it.

Last Saturday I took a 45 minutes walk around my neighbourhood just before 6am and I came across this carpet

Purple floor covering 😉

Day 19. Something Awesome:

Take a photo of something awesome in your life, or something rather awesome that you saw.

I shared one part of it last week, this is another view from the 12th, just at a different time of the day

Another view from the 12th taken at sunset last Saturday

Isn’t this view just awesome.

And I just had to share another picture I saw in my archives. I understand now why my friends say I have always loved taking pictures.

A picture of the Union Building (Seat of Govt) I took in November 8 2006…

Day 20. Work/Play:

You could use something like picframe to share two photos – one of what ‘work’ looks like for you, and another of what ‘play’ looks like for you.

WORK This is my workstation. I will spare you the mess that is the whole area and show you my pretty screen saver (LOL)

My beautiful work screen saver and not so beautiful work area in the background 😉

PLAY hmmmmm, what does play mean for me, these days (or like forever) taking random pictures

Have a great day ahead

Today…

Yikes!!!!!! I am a full week behind of posting the pictures for the June challenge. Life has been hectic and the last thing I wanted to do was post. I still take pictures , Life can never be too hectic to go without taking pictures  🙂   😉

Day 9 on the 15th… VERY BAD. The challenge for day 9 was your view today. And I did get some stunning views on this faithful cold and crisp winter morning

And

And

Phew!!! I survived uploading pictures on WP!!!

All on the same street. I can bet that the people who live on this street might not have even noticed what wonderful and beautiful view they had today

Place…

I am way way way way way behind on this challenge but I am definitely going to finish what I started.

There will be loads of back-dated posts to catch up in the next few days, only 2 and half days until the month ends

Day 19’s post is a favourite place {a place you love being in}

I know for sure that I like being anywhere there are photo ops. I have said it more than once that I love love love love love love love love being behind and in front of a camera   🙂    🙂      😉

I discovered a few years ago that I love rolling hills and mountains, grasslands. Most people crave the beach (which I also like as there are many picture ops there too) but give me rolling hills any day. Maybe it is because I grew up around the beach. As a family we used to go to the beach almost every other weekend when I was growing up, must be a case of being there done that.  Which probably explains my indifference to the beach now.

These pictures were from last year when I visited the Wellington in Cape Winelands.

Same view much later in the day

A Different location but within the same vicinity next day

Another (check out the clear blue sky)

Don’t you just love the views. I would not mind waking up to this every morning. Pictures all taken with my phone and no  touch ups
